Screen printing onto medical camera lens surrounds

• The client required a machine to screen print very fine detail on the circumference of precision-engineered delicate camera lens surrounds.
• Extensive trials resulted in a tool being developed with a specially-machined groove allowing the lens surrounds to be loaded with a ‘snug’ fit into the tool, held securely whilst printing, and ‘flicked’ out at the end of the print cycle, thus avoiding any potential for product distortion.
• The tool was fitted to a Mascoprint CP12 cylindrical screen printing machine and further trials conducted using different screen specifications to achieve the required print.
• The machine is now installed on the client’s premises, printing several thousand lens surrounds per annum.
